You will be missed but never forgotten
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 18th. He is survived by his wife Julie, 2 sons; Julius Jr., Richard, and 1 son David who preceded him in death. He had 5 grandchildren and 8 great grand children.
Julius was born in Tampa, Florida and was drafted from the Navy ROTC into the Army where he served as a Supply Sergeant and M1/45 instructor during the Korean War.
He met his soon-to-be wife Julie and after just 17 days of courtship they were married and began their 60 year love affair. The picture below shows their 60th anniversary celebration on board a Disney cruise – their happiness and love for each other still clearly evident.
He loved being a husband and father and liked to keep the family close, they did everything together. He particularly enjoyed camping, fishing and travelling all over the United States with his growing family.
He taught his children and grand children to:
• Never give up on yourself;
• Respect yourself and others;
• Be self-reliant;
• Be a man of your word; and
• Always think outside the box.
He was known for his kindness and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need, while at the same time, you could always count on him for a straight answer He also taught us that friends may come and go, but family is forever.
His grandson Ben summed it up the best when he said “He was the best man I’ve ever known.”We were all blessed to have had him in our lives and he will be missed greatly. We will proudly continue the legacy he left us.
