Ray(Lavar)Horrocks
1933 – 2012
Survived by: 1 brother, 1 sister, his wife, 3 sons and their families.
Agent for Farmers Insurance for 38yrs.
Married to Lillian Dymock 1956 in the SL Temple.
Ray was honored to have served on an LDS mission in the Western Canadian Mission from 1953 to 1955, also as a temple worker, stake missionary, and in various leadership positions throughout his life. He was famous for his taco parties and water fights. Ray loved outdoor activities such as: hunting, fishing, water skiing with family, camping, and golfing. He was still adventurous in his later years, and loved learning new things with his family, for example: he learned to scuba dive with his sons after he was in his seventies. Many people knew Ray as the candy man because he always had some candy that he shared with everyone he met. He never turned anyone away that was in need of his help. Ray’s legacy to everyone he met was his Christ-like example during his life of righteousness. The viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8PM and Thursday from 10-11AM. The services will be on Thursday at 11AM. The viewing and services will be held at the church located at 3274 S Hillsdale Dr. (2800 W)
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ray’s name to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.valleyviewfuneral.com
