I wanted to sing this at the lake gathering after your memorial, but it slipped my mind so here it goes: WE ARE THE GRUENSTEIN GIRLS, WE WEAR OUR HAIR IN CURLYS, WE DON'T SMOKE OR DRINK, THAT'S WHAT OUR PARENT'S THINK, WE SMOKE BIG BLACK CIGARS, WE NECK WITH GUYS IN CARS, WE ARE THE GRUENSTEIN GIRLS, DA DA DA DA DA DAMichelle Gruenstein Richardson

Oh dear sis, I'm so sorry I wasn't there to hang out on a regular basis the last 20 years. Us moving away has made it hard for me to be with my family, so basically I have to remember the great times we did spend together. Every time I came in town, you were always there to greet me. I will never forget the most awesome Easter gathering you had in 2009. You had organized everything from the Easter egg hunt to prizes to the food. You were so good about bringing people together and making the most fun anyone could have. Your beautiful talents were just amazing. I just hope we can all learn from you in a way that your memory will never be forgotten. I luv you and miss you so much. I know you are looking down on us now to help us with each and every day of our lives to come. Rest in peace sister. Love Sammy ~ (Michelle)Steve Gruenstein

I've known Monica since I was about 8 years old, before I was even a member of the family. I will always remember her as a fun and vibrant person! She's wonderful with children and I remember her paintings on windows. I always looked forward to Christmas to see what beautiful picture she would draw on the windows at Sara's grandmas house. She will be greatly missed. My deepest condolenses to the family, to her children and grandchildren.Stephanie, waldy, owen & olivia

My Monnie, my special name for Monica... had a heart of gold when it came to loving family and friends and although she had her troubles as we all do, She never hesitated to celebrate love and kindness. Her love and devotion to children is unwavered as she leaves us behind. Her love and talents in gardening, crafts, art and cooking will be sorely missed as our Holiday Funtertainer and BBQ Queen. I will forever think of her as I carefully place my onions above the soil in the garden and not below and remember how she taught me that "Peppers love to hold hands." I love you Monnie and always will sis. God BlessRoger & Marcee Matthees
