Though it has been many years since I last saw Chuck, I have thought of him often. We met when I was only 13, and began playing music together when I was 16, with my sister Patty Hypes and her husband Danny Hypes. Chuck was one of the best drummers I ever picked with. Martha probably would not remember me as Paul Irvin, but as Junior, Patty Hypes' little brother. My condolances to Martha who was also a good friend for many years in Canton, Ohio as well as the children, who were "kids" when I saw them last. Nancy, Sherry, Chuckie, and also Chris, who was just a baby when the family moved west. God Bless and keep you all. We had many fun times, and I will always remember the many week-end boating trips to Berlin Lake, where Chuck tried to teach me to ski, without much success.Pam Mills (Hypes)

To the entire Mellott family, we are so sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. Just know that with God, he is no longer suffering and he will always be watching over all of us. If you are a little puzzled of whom I am, I am Danny's daughter, I know, it's been a long long time. Please take care of each other, that's all you can do when you lose the ones you love, life must go on till God says "enough". I am sure he and my mom are making some musical noise up there!!Tom Dowd & Cesar Rivera

Dear Cheryl & Brad, It is difficult at times like these to find the words to express the sadness we feel for you. The only solace you can have is in knowing that he is probaly in a much better place than we are and that the hand of God is resting upon him. Our sincerest condolences to you both and your family. I have been truely blessed to be your little girl. Thank you for giving me life, thank you for the lessons in life, for believing in me and allowing me to blossom. I promise to continue to be a good person and to "treat everyone with kindness", even if they aren't nice, and to help those in need with all the resources God blessed me with. I'm sad because you aren't here with us anymore, but I know I will see you again! So, run like you haven't been able to daddy, breath deeply on your own with out help from an oxygen tank and tell Jesus I love him. I love you daddy and we will be together again.
