On Saturday, June 28, 2010, Henry Eugene Allen went home to be with is Lord and Savior after a long illness. He was a recording company executive and industry pioneer who is credited with launching the careers of some of the biggest and most successful recording artists, such as, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Ike and Tina Turner, The Bee Gees, Roberta Flack, Bob Marley, Otis Redding, Slave, Stacy Latersaw, The Spinners, Sister Sledge, Johnny Gill, Luther Van Dross, The Jackson 5, and many others.
He received the “Executive of the Year” Award five times and was named a “Living Legend” awardee by Bill Board Magazine in 1998. He remained an avid lover of music until his last day.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, sister-in-law, son, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and neighbors.
